Coach and Percentage-based training (Davis)

A full-spectrum 10K example for experienced runners who already support substantial training volume.

Shared with Coach

Training starts from current fitness and becomes more race-specific.

How Coach differs

Davis’s example builds race-specific work for experienced, high-volume runners. Coach uses a smaller training load shaped by your recent running.

What Coach uses and why

Coach uses Davis’s way to progress: the same workout gets longer at the same pace. Each block, your cruise intervals get 1 more rep, or your tempo run gets 5 more minutes. Coach’s race-pace long run practices the target effort.

What Coach leaves out and why

Coach does not copy the example’s volume, doubles, or its change to longer reps. Coach adds reps of the same length.
